РУЖАНЫ — древний город, известный с 1490 года. Подобно розе, Ружаны расцвели при канцлере ВКЛ Льве Сапеге. Он заложил тут грандиозный замок. Здесь принимали королей, князей церкви, иностранных вельмож; здесь вершилась большая политика с ее замысловатыми пасьянсами.

В конце XVIII ст. благодаря таланту архитектора Иоганна Самуэля Беккера замок был превращен в роскошную дворцово-замковую резиденцию. Близкая к овалу, композиция княжеской резиденции, вознесенной на пригорок, цельно и величаво отразила дух своей эпохи. В обновленных флигелях открыта музейная экспозиция, посвященная роду Сапег.

RUZHANY is an ancient city, known since 1490. Like a rose, Ruzhany blossomed under the Chancellor of The Grand Duchy of Lithuania Lev Sapieha. He laid a grandiose castle here. Kings, princes of the church, and foreign grandees were received here; big politics with its intricate solitaire games were carried out here.

At the end of the XVIII century, thanks to the talent of architect Johann Samuel Becker, the castle was turned into a luxurious palace and castle residence. Close to the oval-shaped, the composition of the princely residence, ascended to the hillock, completely and majestically reflected the mood of the era. A museum exposition dedicated to the Sapieha family has been opened in the renovated wings.
